I shouldn't do this but...

my brother was announcing his conference speaking engagements, and even though it means mixing business and peasure by giving away my real identity again, I'm tempted to announce my own. And it's not just my usual petty sibling rivalry -- giving a talk at a Java conference is something I've wanted to do for years!! I know, TMI, I shouldn't be admitting to such nerdy fantisies, but I gotta be me!!! ;^)

The only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it! (And congratulations on your talk.)

If you want to brag on your blog but don't want to mix your personal and business identities, why not spell out the link using a rebus, so that there no backlink search is possible? The truly paranoid include a jpeg image of the link text or maybe a jpeg image of the rebus! Pig Latin is also an effective anti-search-engine treatment. :-)

(I have a similar dilemma. I published a computer science textbook with a fancy academic publisher this year-- okay, twist my arm, Ambridge-Cay University-way Ress-Pay-- and would love to brag about it on my blog, but alas I am firm in my resolve not to.)
